smsu's family day 2007

I forgot how disgusting and chaotic fun fairs could be. Haha.

Anyway, a few days ago, while in my hostel room, I was having a phone conversation with Geegers. We were basically talking about how sucky her time in sri kdu is. That bad eh? Anyway, good ol' Gg invited me to go to SMSU's family day. To tell you the truth, I wasn't exactly excited to go. I mean, it's the weekends you know? I just want to laze around in my house and be a vegetable! But Gg was begging for me to go and I figured, heck, I haven't seen my high school friends for such a long time, so why not?

On the day itself, Gg didn't come. I know. She invited me and made me all eager to go - and she didn't show up. It wasn't her fault - some activity in sri kdu. Seriously, I'm slowly hating sri kdu. Maybe it's because Gg told me a bunch of stuff abt sri kdu that bugged me. Hence, I'm not into sri kdu. Or any private schools for that matter. It's not the school, it's the people. Some of them are serious bitches with attitude problems.

Okay, before I go off-tangent here..

I was late, as per usual. I was pretty casual that day because I didn't even plan my outfit. It's just too damn mafan plus it's all about self-confidence isn't it? Anyway, I did the mistake of using my sister's heels. It matched with my top... Anyway, I arrived in my former high school at almost twelve. When I got there, I really felt like I don't belong there. I don't recognize anybody at all! All the kids there are just plain strangers. I felt like I'm visiting somebody else's school! And it's bad enough that the place is damn crowded with pointless tents everywhere. I think the tents erected made the place feels really cramped. Minutes there and I already felt like leaving. But I wanted to meet my friends so I bought a 20 bucks worth of coupons and went to the gelanggang berbumbung. haha.

Anyway, the gelanggang berbumbung is kind of huge. So, at first, I was just walking around the place looking for my friends when I noticed... Shahrul. Honestly? I see Shahrul everyday in UIA. haha. To me, at the moment, he's the most recognizable friend I have currently. haha. I think I'm growing tired of seeing him... haha nah I'm kidding! Anyway, I was walking towards Shahrul when the guy next to him turned to look at me.

And it was FREAKING UNGKU SHAEN UNGKU MELEWA.

IN THE FLESH!

If you don't know, Shaen is actually my former classmate way back in 2003. Then, his family and him moved to the UK and all this while, we've been communicating with him via internet. So, seeing him next to me after four years of absence was really awesome! I gave him a hug but before I could do anything, Diana and Farisa mauled me. haha. After that, it was me, Farisa, Diana, Shaen, Shahrul and Iesqo sitting in a circle and just plain talking above the horrible karaoke show. Yeah, at the gelanggang berbumbung there was a karaoke thingy. Isn't it pathetic? I mean, just asking random strangers to sing is such a bad idea! Some of the people couldn't sing to save their lives! Yeah, I know, Iesqo. I don't know where the hell he came from though. haha.

After that, the events were kinda blurred thanks to sheer boredom. I swear the Hari Kantin we did in 2003 was so much better than this year's sorry-ass Hari Keluarga. Seriously. It was horrible and boring. In fact, I was trying to convince the other guys to ditch the place and go to Pyramid and watch a movie. I don't know, I guess I lost the whole SMSU semangat thing that I used to have. It's just that it doesn't feel like my own school anymore. Bummer. Either way, the Pyramid plan didn't work out because of lack of enthusiasm from the others. Plus, Shaen left early - along with Shahrul. Which pissed off Farisa naturally and made Shaen felt guilty as hell and swear out loud. It was kinda funny when you think about it. haha. But still, I'm a bit annoyed that Shaen had to leave early because I just met him! But ah well.

Anyway, soon I figured that the plan to do is to get rid of the coupons as fast as possible so we could ditch the Hari Keluarga. I wouldn't even bother to do games. From experience, they are usually very unfulfilling. For some reason, they are some rajin kids who queue up for those kinda games. WHY WASTE YOUR TIME? So, I bought a couple of drinks, some food here and there, and did henna!

Honestly, I have no idea why I do henna. I always end up with horrible henna drawings on my palms. I can't draw so whenever I do henna onto myself, it always ends disastrously. Everytime I'm done with henna, I always wish that the henna would fade quickly. Heh. Anyway, this morning, me and my friends thought it was a great idea. We almost did the fake tattoos but those things last for a week and HELL, I SO DON'T HAVE A WEEK. haha. I could get fined in UIA!

So, now I have shitty-looking henna on BOTH of my palms. One was done by this Form One girl for a fucking 5 bucks coupon. NOT WORTH IT. Another was done by me so you can guess how ugly it is. The paid one is fading but my own design seemed like it's gonna stay for a couple of days... Damn. But my third henna is nice. It was just a simple writing of my name that Farisa did. Yes, I have three hennas, two of them which I hope fades quickly! haha.

Bottomline: SMSU's Hari Keluarga sucked. SMSU or not. It was! Don't deny it!

Oh yeah, there was this whole 'shuffle' mania going on in SMSU that morning. People were wearing those ugly baggy pants with reflectors on them. Seriously, watching them do the 'shuffle' made me convinced that the the dance was meant for people on drugs. Isn't it obvious? haha.

Anyway, after the Hari Keluarga, me, Farisa and Diana headed down to Parade. Diana drove us there. Isn't that awesome?? You know, when I was in high school, I always imagined me and my friends riding down the highway in a joyride... Well, ok, in my fantasy, we were hot and wearing shades and playing some hip-hop song outloud. Well... It was close!

Either way, the Hari Keluarga gave me a good excuse to meet up with some people I thought I would never see again... Like, Shaen, Saufi, Shahir, Adlina etc. So yeah, it wasn't exactly a waste of time.

Now, back to my hostel life. Sigh.

-- SMSU sucks without us. Ain't that right? haha. SELF-LOVE!
