domestic sally

I can't believe I went through two months without mentioning that I have been washing, drying, and ironing my own clothes and done all the other house chores et cetera.

Can't believe it as doing house chores isn't exactly my 'forte'. Oh hell. It never was ok! I hate house chores... actually I've never thought about it since I have grown up in a family with built-in maids. hahha. But seriously, I DO NOT know how people without indon maids SURVIVE. It's like, 24/7 there's something to do! Weekends, weekdays - there's just something to clean or something! Gah! I guess the emo side of me overwhelms my blog so much to the point that I can't even blog about the fact that my maid had ran away a month ago.

Terseksa, babe. Terseksa. (Me that is, on doing the house chores, not the maid - well ok, I don't if she felt terseksa too but ah heck)

It started just right after I went to camp! The minute I packed my things and hitched a ride with my mum's friend, my maid was - reported by my ever-resourceful grandma - being very excited. As in, she just keeps rushing her work as though she wants to do something BIGGER. And the fact that she keep coaxing my aunt and grandma to go to sleep... So after they did, she escaped through her bedroom window and never be seen again... Luckily that she's not bright since I have around RM 200 bucks in my room. Last heard was that she's now working in a farm. Righto. Luckily my other family members got back home from their beach vacation at the same night.

Just think! I've just finished wrestling blood-sucking leeches, crazy-ass hikes, mud with more blood-sucking leeches, and I went home - to wrestle another kind of thing... the domestic kind! God, I was thinking of spa and massages... Not picking the white clothes from the coloured ones in the laundry!

Basically, since the last month?

I've been domestic sally. haha.

I learned quite a lot of things actually which is pretty good. These are a few good domestic sally advices on house chores! Observe:

1. when frying nugget tempura, NEVER put it on a big fire. Kononnyer nak cepatkan the proses? DON'T. And if you did that anyways, DON'T leave it unattended even though Terminator 3 is beginning to start. Cut long story short, me and my sister almost burned down our house. haha. I'm serious! If you go to our kitchen now, there's tell-tale signs on the kitchen ceiling! The fire almost reached the ceiling ok! And I called the firefighters for the first time! (see how bad it is? sampaikan nak panggil bomba. it was BAD) haha. I can't believe I actually dialled the firefighters since I'm not even sure what's their number. But I guess my brain works well on panic mode. It was funny when it ended but during? Wow, I almost thought my father could've died since he's the one who put out the fire. But now, I can fry nugget tempura without burning the house down! Aren't you proud of me??

2. DON'T wash your school canvas shoes with bleach. I didn't, by the way, since my dad stopped me just in time. (Apparently, my dad is a very good domestic sally!) I thought that since my school shoes are white so... why not bleach them whiter?? Brilliant idea atikah! But I still don't know why we shouldn't. I mean its 99% effective on bacteria, for god's sakes. People keep saying that it will destroy my shoes... even Gg said so (she's a domestic sally). BUT WHY?? I still don't know why but I just know that we SHOULDN'T. Oh, washing school shoes is the suckiest house chore there is. The suckiest!

3. DON'T postpone picking up the clothes from the dryer. You do not know how many times I've picked up clothes at night. Bad idea. Since it's more mafan - being in the dark and all. And a whole lotta freakier since it's in the backyard and it's dark and you're alone and you're vulnerable since there's nothing but you and your clean clothes to fend yourself from... And sometimes the clothes get slightly wetter... from the night dew? I dunnolah. And there was a time when I was happily watching Laguna Beach reruns and enjoying the cold atmosphere since it's raining when... OMG! BAJU! hahah.

4. REMEMBER your school clothes. I have repeatedly wake up in the morning with nothing to wear. I mean, they're washed and all but wrinkly like hell. And when you have no minutes left to spare (bangun lambat... ), it's really nerve-wrecking. And there's something about ironing that I just don't bloody understand. Why is it that after you ironed the front side of your top then move on to the back and when you thought you're done, you noticed that the front side is wrinkly again?? It's like, what's goin' on here? I don't understand it. Years and years of Biology probably won't save me in this area. Mind-boggling is the word.

5. DON'T keep trash more than just a few days. Especially if you did some heavy-duty cooking the before. Hello? MAGGOTS GALORE.

My room was in constant chaos. So damn mafan ok. I was losing my mind. I mean, ok, I already have spm-related stress and peer pressure and shit, now you want to give me house chores?! Ok, I sound like a brat but what-freaking-ever! Pissed off, I was.

Actually, I enjoyed washing dishes. But shush... Then, my mum wants me to do it all the time.

However, my domestic sally days are coming to an end as a few days ago, we finally got a maid!! YEY! No more torture! But still, we're trying to educate her slowly so I still have to do the smaller trivial things like washing my school shoes and all. Blergh. But in another month's time, I will receive another maid! And soon, my house chore problems will be over...

Throughout the whole domestic sally month, my grandma and my aunt was exported to my aunts' houses. CAN YOU SMELL THE FREEDOM? Kak Nadia, I know how you feel now...

I guess, I should take this moment to skinny dip huh?

-- I've been avoiding cats-related chores by blaming it on my allergies. Works everytime baby.
