Port Dickson: when staring at the wallpaper is less fun

Ok, since Tuesday, I have gone missing without saying a single word. I went to Port Dickson for all of you concerned people. Heh. Port Dickson is Malaysia's so-called lamest beach there is. Absolutely lame. I feel extremely sorry for those tourists who came from far and wide places only to be cheated by colourful pamphlets. Malaysia is beautiful but not in Port Dickson, it ain't!

Anyway, tagging along with my family is your usual Roki, my grandma, and my two aunts. Not exactly the hippest crowd there is but I didn't exactly planned this holiday anyways. Even before I reached my hotel, I was already got myself a sunburn. That place is like the place to be if you want skin cancer. Honest to God.

The trip is boring. Yep, most of the time Roki, my sister and I was just sitting around at the beach. The beach was man-made, by the way. So, instead of nice grain-y golden sand, we got the dusty construction sand. Yep. We were aiming for the sauna and the steambath in the hotel. It's complimentary! But there is always something up. The first day, we found out too late. The second day, we went to Malacca for-god-knows-what and got home after the centre closes. And the third day? We woke up early just for that - only to realise that it opens at 1 o'clock. We check out by 12!! Dang.

Anyway, guess who I met on my last day? I was in the lift with my parents and this group of Iranian family. They've got a kid there and guess what? He pressed all the buttons on the friggin' lift! Not to mention that the lift is sort of cramped, we've got to go to each floor one by one. My floor is the highest - Level 10. So, as I waited patiently, the lift's door opens and closes. Until we reached to a certain level and the door opens to this family. Then I saw this guy with glasses holding a beach ball. He looked very familiar. So freaking familiar, in fact, that he waved. Oh - my - god. I managed to wave back before the door closes again. Fandi and his family looked like they just got out of a Roxy shop and ready for some beach lovin'. hahahah.

I always get this, you know. When you think that no one you know will be there to see your frumpy and messy self, suddenly there they are! And obviously, they took more time than you did to pick their outfit for the day. It's always that! Just going to a shop - it doesn't matter if that shirt seems kinda frayed a bit - it's not like SOMEBODY'S GONNA SEE YOU. Then bam! Somebody sees you. And you're thinking, 'Damn - what in the world am I wearing?!'. Remind me not to EVER take things for granted. I know it sounds stupid but honestly, being messy in public - to me - is pretty scary. Not to mention, embarassing.
